Founded in 2010 by a duo of Copenhagen-based designers, Iskos-Berlin specializes in home furnishings that utilize inventive materials and technologies, resulting in objects that have their own individual histories. The Fiber Chair is a prime example, featuring a sculptural shell constructed from an innovative bio-composite material that contains polypropylene mixed with 25% wood fiber. Two years in the making, the chair is mounted on solid wood legs, while the shell is upholstered in either Kvadrat fabric or Silk full-grain, a pure aniline leather that retains the visibility of its natural qualities. And as with all pure aniline leathers, the Silk material will get better with age, eventually a developing a rich patina with time.
