Soon to be unveiled at Baselworld 2017 is the Breitling Avenger Hurricane 12H watch, sporting a conventional 24-hour dial contained inside an extra-large 50mm case. While the dimensions are impressive, it’s the high-tech material that it’s made from that’s more notable. The substance is called Breitlight, and notwithstanding that it’s 3.3 times lighter than titanium and 5.8 times lighter than steel, it’s significantly harder and more scratch-resistant than both. Additionally, it’s also anti-magnetic and non-allergenic. Powering the watch is the Caliber B01 movement, Breitling’s first in-house manufactured caliber that’s certified by the COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute). The watch is offered with a dial in either black or yellow, complemented with a sporty rubber strap.
