Representing the first made-to-order project from the company’s new Ultimate Vehicle Concept (UVC) division, the East Coast Defender “Project Viper” is billed as its most capable SUV. Based on the Land Rover 130 pickup, the custom job is powered by a Chevrolet LS3 V-8, good for 430 horsepower and coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission. With no consideration for monetary or time constraints, the SUV was designed by the client and built in a separate production area of ECD’s facilities in Kissimmee, Florida. The list of upgrades includes heavy duty axles with electronic locking differentials from KAM, King Off-Road Racing shocks and a Wilwood brake package with 6-piston calipers at the front and 4-piston calipers at the back. East Coast Defender’s UVC division will make just ten custom SUVs each year.
