Available in limited quantities, the  X.O bottle by Marc Newson doesn't stray too far from its original concept. The renowned industrial designer keeps the overall shape of the bottle mostly unchanged, and instead focuses on the vessel's glass surface and its exterior packaging. The bottle is now embellished with horizontal lines, arrayed in an orderly series of rows for a more modern look. “To me, the stripes really emphasize the strength of the decanter's shape,” explains Newson. “When they catch the light, they highlight both the bottle and the contents, making the whole feel warmer and more tactile.” As for the packaging, a transparent “gift box,” made from injected plastic similar to the kind used in perfume bottles, is made to follow the form of the X.O bottle. Look for Hennessy X.O by Marc Newson to be available from July to September, offered exclusively through travel retail.
