2017 Triumph Street Triple Motorcycle

The 2017 Triumph Street Triple lineup has been unveiled, comprising three variants — the S, R and RS — all described as “the most exciting, dynamic, agile and intuitive performance street bikes” that the company has ever made. Each packs a 765 cc three-cylinder engine based on the Daytona 675 platform, featuring 80 new parts that include a new crank, pistons and Nikasil plated aluminium barrels, and an increased bore and stroke. According to Triumph, the upshot is a significant performance upgrade, even as the overall weight is decreased by about 4.4 lbs compared to the previous generation. The S model is being targeted toward everyday riders, R for sport, while the RS is billed as an all-out track-ready machine. All three share the same 6-speed gearbox, cast aluminum 5-spoke wheels, 55.5-inch wheelbase, ride-by-wire throttle and a new gullwing swingarm. The R and RS models carry a new 5-inch TFT full color instrument panel, featuring three different displays depending on the riding mode. Triumph has divulged pricing for just the S model, which starts at $9,900 in the U.S.
