Arnold Schwarzenegger may have conflicting interests — namely, his love for gas guzzling SUVs versus his concerns for the environment — but the Kreisel Electric G-Class SUV takes care of both in one fell swoop. Austria-based Kreisel Electric took the former Governator’s Mercedes-Benz G-Class and gave it a fully electric drive train, swapping out the original fossil-fuel V6 for two battery packs with a total capacity of 80 kWh, along with two electric motors generating a max power of 360kW. The result is a 0 to 62 mph sprint time of around 5.6 seconds, and a range of about 186 miles. Moreover, Kreisel claims that 80 percent of the battery’s capacity can be charged in just 25 minutes. At least for now, the project stands as a unique prototype and is not for sale.
