A couple of years ago, Airbnb reached out to Spencer Staley, founder of Portland’s The Good Mod, to help create a new call center, one cleverly built around the behavior of the company’s employees. One of the key products to come out of the collaboration is The Good Mod’s plywood lounge chair, showcasing what the furniture maker does best: brass hardware, comfortable rounded edges and a love for all things plywood. Each piece is built from start to finish at TGM’s 10,000-square-foot workshop, featuring solid and seamless 2″ plywood construction that maintains its beauty and integrity through years of prolonged use.
