JUNCTURE

visvim Fall/Winter 2017 Collection

On the heels of a tantalizing preview, we get a full look at the visvim Fall/Winter 2017 collection. Recent seasons have seen Hiroki Nakamura utilizing ancient Japanese artisanal techniques with materials of the highest quality, and that’s certainly true of this upcoming assortment. As always, it’s all about the details, exemplified by a kimono-style jacket finished in the sort of lacquer that’s traditionally used on samurai armor, painstakingly treated until it achieves the perfect cracked texture. Even more impressive is a leather jacket, only four of which were produced, featuring leather that was tanned and prepared over a period of 10 months. Elsewhere, a strong workwear influence is seen in the puffer vests and parkas, as well as pieces constructed from dry denim. A strong selection of footwear, partially made up of deerskin moccasin styles and kangaroo-hide sneakers, complete the impressive range.
