Lucky shoppers here in the U.S. are getting a first crack at The North Face Spring/Summer 2017 collection, featuring pieces designed exclusively for China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The goods are available starting this week at just one stateside location, The North Face’s Jackson Square store in San Francisco. There, shoppers can choose from an assortment that blends technical function and minimalist style, as well as protection from the elements with clean lines on forward-thinking silhouettes. Designed by Tokyo’s Koji Ogawa, the collection is highlighted by six original outerwear pieces, each imbued with a distinctive performance benefit. They include waterproof protection from DryVent and GORE-TEX, wind protection from WINDWALL and GORE WINDSTOPPER, and abrasion-resistance and comfort from PERTEX EQUILIBRIUM. The collection also delves into The North Face archives to resurrect the classic Mountain Jacket from 1985, along with pieces inspired by a classic bomber, blazer and field jacket. Coordinating bottoms and a series of sportswear round out the range.
