This restored Jaguar Series 1 E-Type is the first of ten to be sold by Jaguar Land Rover, as part of the company’s “Reborn” program. The car, making its public debut at the Techno-Classica Essen show in Germany, is a 4.2-liter model finished in Opalescent Gunmetal Grey. It was originally purchased in 1965 and accumulated 78,000 miles in California before it was put into storage in 1983, and now the Jaguar Classic department has gotten hold of the car and restored it to factory specifications. Jaguar repaired and retained as many original parts as possible, with the body, engine, and gearbox keeping the original serial numbers. Interested buyers will need deep pockets — a standard restored car done to factory specs is quoted to start at about $355,000.
