Featuring a unique design that approaches the level of automotive art, the Essence E-Raw electric motorcycle is marked by its unique seat, one crafted from plywood in the same process through which surfboards are made. There’s also the absence of a fuel tank, which is in keeping with Essence Motocycles’ ethos of leaving behind all unnecessary components while simultaneously blending modern materials with old-world craftsmanship. That led the French builders to equip the E-Raw with a 10.1 kWh capacity battery, good for a 115-mile range, a top speed of 96 mph and 133 lb-ft of torque. The resulting 0-62 mph sprint time, rated at 3.5 seconds, doesn’t come cheap. Essence is is planning to build ten units, each expected to be priced at around $60,000.
