2018 Lexus LC

True to the spirit of the LF-LC concept car that Lexus sent to Detroit in 2012, the 2018 Lexus LC is the spiritual successor to the SC, trading in the previous coupe’s quiet elegance for a kinetic, bold athleticism. The LC 500/500h isn’t based on an existing Lexus or Toyota vehicle, and instead features an all-new front-engine, rear-drive platform that will also underpin the next LS sedan. The LC 500 packs a 5.0-liter 471-horsepower V8 that drives the rear wheels through a 10-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The resulting 0-to-60 mph sprint time is rated at 4.4 seconds. Its LC 500h hybrid counterpart uses a 3.5-liter V6, combined with an electric motor and 44 kWh lithium-ion battery back to generate 354 horsepower. Even as the hybrid weighs 155 pounds more than the V8 and puts out substantially decreased horsepower, the car takes just .3 seconds longer to reach 60 mph. Check the accompanying video for the luxury and safety features.
