JUNCTURE

The Æon Yamaha XSR900 / Diamond Atelier

The Æon Yamaha XSR900 / Diamond Atelier is described by the Munich workshop as their “craziest build up to this day.” The custom job, commissioned by Dutch watchmaker TW Steel, started with the reducing of the XSR900 to its bare minimum, ultimately exposing the basic core of a 2017 production bike. Due to the tight build schedule, KRT Framework handled the aluminum bodywork, which features a TW Steel timepiece hidden under a flip-up panel where the headlight would normally reside. Other revisions include lowered anodized forks, black ABM Multiclip handlebars, Gilles rearsets and a color-matched Wilbers Blackline rear shock. The brake lines were replaced with steel braided units from ABM and the engine was complemented with K&N filters and a one-off SC Project exhaust system. Finally, power now comes from a pair of lithium ion batteries. Judging the project as an exercise in style, the Æon is practically a rolling work of art.
