JUNCTURE

OHIO Design Adler Desk

Considering the warning that sitting is the new smoking, the American workforce is increasingly turning to standing desks, and the OHIO Design Adler Desk is an exceedingly handsome version of the concept — more antique workshop than desultory keyboard stand. The San Francisco-based company has equipped the Adler with a functioning crank made from steel gears and a chromed, cast-iron handle, allowing the work surface to rise from 27 to 42 inches high. Offered in two sizes, it can be ordered in a variety of woods, including walnut, oak and maple, and steel legs that can be power-coated in a wide variety of colors.
