With the introduction of the Bollinger Motors B1, the New York-based startup melds a classic SUV design with an electric drivetrain. Prospective buyers can expect decent range that falls a bit short of a Tesla (up to 200 miles, courtesy of an optional 100kWh battery) and the off-road capabilities of a Land Rover (thanks to two motors generating 360 horsepower and 472 lb-ft of torque, which is good enough to propel the truck from 0–60 miles per hour in 4.5 seconds). The truck has a unique design that can be set up in either a full or half-cab configuration, with 95 cubic feet of total cargo capacity and 6,100 lbs. of towing capacity. Finally, the B1 can tackle just about any kind of terrain, featuring ground clearance that can be adjusted between 10 and 20 inches, thanks to a hydropneumatic suspension system.
