Highlighting a thorough reimagining of three iconic sneaker silhouettes, the upcoming adidas Originals by Hender Scheme collection showcases handmade construction and premium materials. Hender Scheme founder Ryo Kashiwazaki has applied his brand’s signature tanned leather on to the NMD R1, Superstar and Micropacer, bringing an unprecedented level of luxury to all three. They’re made by hand, and each swaps out the traditional rubber outsole with a nail-in sole, which can be replaced once it wears down. Similarly, the NMD R1 loses its trademark BOOST midsole, while the Micropacer ditches its built-in pedometer. As for the tanned leather upper, it’s guaranteed to beautifully age with wear, allowing each shoe to improve with time. With prices ranging from $900 to $1,000, the adidas Originals by Hender Scheme collection launches in extremely limited numbers through select retailers on September 2nd.
