New Balance and Danner have teamed up for the second installment of their American Pioneer Project, this time featuring collaborative editions of the New Balance 995 and Danner Mountain Light Pioneer boot. Celebrating American heritage, the dual footwear styles are designed for the modern consumer while paying tribute to both brands' respective hometowns, as well as the homegrown manufacturing of premium-quality goods. The 995 sneaker features a premium nubuck leather upper with branded embossing and oxidized copper finished eyelets. The accompanying Mountain Light Pioneer boot also features a premium nubuck upper, complemented with a Gore-Tex lining and vibram Kletterlift outsole. Like the 995, the boot is accented with copper hardware, inspired by the Portland Penny — the tossed copper one-cent coin that ultimately decided the naming of the city of Portland, Oregon. The collection is available now at select global retailers, as well as online at danner.com and newbalance.com.
