Awarded 1st place in a national competition for best wooden construction, the Wooden House / studio PIKAPLUS of Slovenia is a residential structure, built in a natural environment just outside a large forest clearing. There’s a durable outer shell made to handle the area’s harsh weather conditions, while the interior is appointed with plenty of soft wood, allowing the structure to blend in with the heavily wooded environment. Save for the bathroom, all the rooms face a large glass facade, which lets in light while offering spectacular vistas of the natural surroundings. Two bedrooms occupy the upper floor, overlooking the living room, dining room, kitchen and bathroom with sauna downstairs.
