With the launch of the new Cabin sleeper bus, travelers between San Francisco and Los Angeles can skip the long waits at the airport and bypass the mind-numbingly dull drive up and down the 5. Instead, they can snooze in the bus’ “sleep pods,” featuring foam mattresses, luxury linens and privacy shades. The vehicle itself is a glossy black double-decker, equipped with Wi-Fi and featuring a downstairs lounge area for night owls, fitted with hardwood laminate floors and caramel-colored leather benches. Founded by Stanford alums Tom Currier and Gaetano Crupi, Cabin will begin overnight runs between LA and San Francisco on weekends starting July 14. One-way tickets start at $115.
