The East Coast Defender “Project Blackout” is the latest venture from the Florida-based Land Rover specialist, featuring a beautiful black-on-black finish that gives the vehicle its name. Based on a 1987 Defender 90, the SUV packs a GM-sourced LC9 V-8 engine, good for 326-horsepower. The balanced power of the LC9 small-block engine allows this Defender to function as a daily driver, as well as a weekend warrior at the beach. In addition to the classic black paint, there are black checkerplate accents and 18-inch black Sawtooth wheels. Inside the cabin, expect heated black leather Land Rover seats, a black instrument panel and a Momo leather-wrapped steering wheel.
